Year 10 Student at Mary MacKillop Catholic, Amity Boston, applied for the Queensland Ballet Teen Ambassador program earlier and the year and over the holidays we were delighted to hear that she has been accepted into this elite dance initiative.

This program enables her to not only learn from artistic Directors and soloist from the company but gains her access straight into to the company once she turns 18 and finishes school.  Amity says “I was over the moon once I heard the news, and it still hasn’t sunk in yet. This has been my dream ever since I was young, and my hard work and dedication has finally paid off." Amity is so grateful for this opportunity and hopes to share her knowledge of this experience with other students within the college.

Amity also devotes her time to the MMCC dance troupe and helps choreograph new routines for the students to learn and perform at the College's events. Amity has been working this year to complete her Certificate 2 in dance teaching through Radiance Dance academy in Toowoomba and is continuing next year to complete her Certificate 3 and 4.

Middle Leader The Arts And Student Engagement, Mrs Jess Burke says "We are extremely proud of Amity’s commitment and dedication to Dance within and outside the College community and congratulate her on her selection towards her Qld Ballet dream."

We wish Amity all the very best on this exciting journey!
